Be Leave Are you able I can not believe Believe are you able? Leave. If to live is to doubt And to doubt is to live Why stay? If to live is to doubt And to doubt is to stay Why live? Wish you would go away! Leave Are you able I can not believe Leave are you able? Leave. Who?

Lyrics: Salt stains the lid Where waves roll in Who? I am one. Salt Stains the lid where waves roll in I am one How can I win Against my own solipsism How? Why? Why do I cry Why? When I feel I am one Hopelessly introverted fuck. The beggar I Lost in time Between its eye But I feel fine. Why? Why do I cry Why? When I feel I am one. I will be humble, simple and unassuming.

Pain Eternal 02:25
This is the response to Check Check You Die, and has more development of that 5/4 theme. It is amazing how much self-incrimination you can develop when you are under the yoke of tyrants, personal or political. How the world stuffs itself down into your through and blames you when you vomit. These primal screams were my way out. I am not your boy. The cost is a surreal endless torment. Lyrics: Pain Eternal Shine Pain eternal rise Come to me All in all we didn’t need much more All in all walking into the desert Lost tyrants Pain eternal rise Come to me

Lyrics: Savor Ruthless Joy Savor ruthless joy Whisper Why The beautiful why Way Why A mumble away oh A mumble away oh oh oh Pain Love Passion Aye? Aye? (A way) For death to come. For death to come.

about

This is a series of experimental and progressive rock recordings I made from 2000-2006.

This is music that is half roller coaster and half plane crash. I pulled these tracks together because the music is mostly heavy, athletic, and adventurous. They are overwhelmingly abstract, more the byproduct of the tumult I felt in my twenties and thirties than a conscious meditation.

To say I didn't integrate well with others is an understatement. I was somehow born without a lot of the social understanding on what makes us a people, and I made just about every mistake one could and survive. At least to some degree I was the cause of the majority of my problems. Couple this with a collapsing economy and ecosystem, you get The Black Box Recordings.

For fun, this time, I have included the text culls I fed to the AI for it to render art. My thanks to Terra for her patience and tenacity programing the AI, rendering images, and generally just being an encouraging fellow artist cannot by overstated.

I am thankful for my friends and family who took the time to understand me when I was in the process of dis-integrating, while clinging to my vestigial "common sense" and trying desperately to fit in. My music is all that I am not as person, confident and monstrous, agile and responsive to threat. I hope you enjoy it.

For those of us that are suffering, please reach out, if not to me, to family or friends, or, in some cases professional help. You don't have to go it alone. Make sure the people who you approach are properly vetted, but vulnerability and honesty are the keys to growth.

***A word about revisions made to album art after initial release: I was wrong about the source of my AI art and it having the potential to hurt living artists and the estates of artists of the past. I apologize for, and own this decision. I held an opinion that I was replicating art of the past so therefore no current artists were being hurt. Given the many uses for AI I was very excited about interacting with it. I no longer believe that to be the case. I am replacing all AI art with photographs I took and edited on my own, and until I can earn enough doing this to hire a local artist, this will be the path I take.

released May 1, 2022

All compositions by Michael Cooper.

Additional guitars and composition credit on Immerse goes to Mark Grider of Fedbysound. A great friend and amazing musician.

A special thanks to my wife Terra for programing the AI that generated the album cover and song images.

I'd like to thank the AI for its sensitive renderings of images taken from my text culls of the song lyrics.

Thank you Mark Grider for your musical companionship, encouragement, and cameo appearances.

Thank you Dredg, for the fantastic lyric: "Why live like penguins in the desert? Why can't we live like tribes?" Which inspired the appearance of the bird through the artwork. If you haven't heard Dredg before they are amazing, and their song "Triangle" is a good place to start.

Thank You Gina Duran for encouraging me to let my "dangerous" art free. You are an inspiration.

Thank you Steuart Liebig and Nathan Hubbard for your continuous stream of good influences both from your personal musicianships, compatriots, and artists of the past. You make a huge difference.

Thank You Zack (Vatyu) and the crew (Alex, Mark, Jonathan, Nick, and Edward) for your camaraderie in the shit. Thank you Zack for telling me just to release this damn album already. It almost didn't happen. You inspire me to be a better art self and practice.

Thank you long lost roommate John who's last name is lost to time and alcohol... your scream is the most profound and best vocal performance on this album.

And to you the listener, for your patience, curiosity, and your need for new sounds.
